The Edinburgh castle
Edinburgh Castle is a historic fortress which
dominates the skyline of the city of Edinburgh, Scotland, from its position on
the Castle Rock. Edinburgh Castle was involved in many historical conflicts
from the Wars of Scottish Independence in the 14th century. The castle, in the
care of Historic Scotland, is Scotland's most-visited paid tourist attraction.
The castle stands upon the plug of an extinct volcano, which is estimated to
have risen about 350 million years ago.
The Princes Street Gardens
Princes
Street Gardens is a public park in the centre of Edinburgh, Scotland, in the
shadow of Edinburgh Castle. The Gardens were created in two phases in the 1770s
and 1820s following the long draining of the Nor Loch and building of the New
Town, beginning in the 1760s. The loch, situated on the north side of the town,
was originally an artificial creation forming part of its medieval defences and made expansion northwards
difficult.
Princes Street
This street is very famous because there are a lot of shops so it is very busy. It is the main shopping street in the capital. If you are in the street you can see the Princes street gardens and also the Edinburgh castle.
Ghost tour
The Edinburgh Dungeon
Edinburgh is very famous for ghosts infact there are a lot of activities like ghost tour : it is a tour in the basement where a person tells you a lot of real horror stories. We also did the Edinburgh Dungeons that was kind of haunted place and it was really nice but a bit scary.
We went to a cemetery that was huge!
A late clock?
This clock is in front of Princes street. It is above the station and it is 5 minutes late because in this way people don’t miss the train.
National museum of Scotland
This museum is very big and famous. It is an interactive museum where you can play with some robot or you can drive a car like Formula
Uno. It is very interesting!
It is like a car of the time because you can see extinct animals and old things but you can also see new inventions.
Royal Mile
The Royal Mile is the name given to a succession of streets
forming the main thoroughfare of the Old Town of the city of Edinburgh in
Scotland.
Royal Mile is an eclectic mix of shops, restaurants, pubs
and visitor attractions. During the annual Edinburgh Festival, the High Street
becomes crowded with tourists, entertainers and buskers.
In this street you can see a lot of Harry Potter shops! It is very colorful and
beautiful.
Glasgow
St. Andrews
It is a beautiful
city near the sea. The weather is very cold and it is windy.The town is home to the University of
St Andrews, the third oldest university in the English-speaking world and the
oldest in Scotland. St Andrews is also known worldwide as the "home of
golf".
The
Museum of the University of St Andrews is a small museum dedicated to the
history of the University of St Andrews. The museum, which is free to enter,
looks at the University's foundation, student life at the University, and
innovative ideas and inventions.
Glasgow
Glasgow is the largest city in
Scotland, and third-largest in the United Kingdom. Glasgow grew from a small rural settlement on the River Clyde.The city has many amenities for a wide
range of cultural activities, from curling to opera and ballet and from
football to art appreciation; it also has a large selection of museums that
include those devoted to transport, religion, and modern art. Like in Princes
street there are a lot of shops.
The Elephant House
In this bar stayed Jk. Rowling
when she was writing Harry
Potter because she was poor and she didn’t have heat. It is the birthplace of Harry Potter.
Loch Lomond
It is a beautiful lake where we had a boat trip and where we took a photos. We saw a lof of person who were fishing with a rod.
